In terms of vegetation composition, grassland vegetation in experimental and field plots can be described by different parameters (plant density, cover, frequency or yield rate). Each parameter describes different features, which in certain cases may be correlated to some extent, but not entirely equivalent. Therefore, first of all, the choice of parameters for evaluation depends on the specific purpose of the investigation. To evaluate the selected parameter, there are different methods in terms of subjectivity, accuracy, effort and requirements for technical equipment. The choice of method depends mainly on the required accuracy, reasonable effort and available resources.
