Semen quality of Mong Cai boars and some influencing factors

Abstract
The study was conducted on 10 boars Mong Cai (5 boars x 2 generations) at Thien Thuan Tuong Mineral Exploitation Joint Stock Company, Quang Ninh to evaluate the semen quality from base to the 2nd generation from 2022 to 2023. Results showed that: semen volume, sperm motilityy, sperm concentration, total sperm count were improved from the base generation to the 2nd generation (P <0.01). At the 2nd generation, Mong Cai boars have a semen volume of 174.05 ml; sperm motility was 82.76%; Sperm concentration reached 32.87 billion. Autumn has a postitive effect, and summer has negative effect on the quality and quality of Mong Cai boars. However, in all four seasons, the quality and quantity of semen of Móng Cái meet TCVN 9713:2013.
