Abstract

The experiment was conducted on 384 semen samples of 04 Charolais bulls, aged from 36 to 48 months and 4 seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) cared for and raised at Moncada Station. The research results showed that the indicators of ejaculate volume, sperm motility, sperm concentration, abnormal sperm rate and total number of straight sperm of Charolais bulls ensured the production of frozen semen. The average ejaculate volume, sperm concentration, sperm motility, abnormal sperm rate, total number of straight sperm and number of frozen straw semen produced in one collection were highest in spring (respectively reaching 7.05 ml, 87.61%, 2.11 billion/ml, 10.62%, 13.04 billion/collection and 289.60 straws) (P<0.05). The post thawing sperm motility of frozen semen from 67.80% to 69.47% (P>0.05).
