Abstract

The study was conducted at a poultry farmin Ho Mi commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province to evaluate effects of Lactomax Plus of F1 (Choi x Luong Phuong) broiler. The experiment was designed in random method and repeated 3 times with 100 chickens from 1 day old to 14 weeks old for each time; these were randomly assigned into 2 groups: controls (no supplement) and treatments (supplementing 10 ml Lactomax Plus in mixed feed content). The results showed that supplementing Lactomax Plus enhanced the growth performance of chickens from 1 day to 14 weeks of age and reduced feed consumption per kg of weight gain. Supplementing the herbal preparation Lactomax Plus in the feed for F1 crossbred chickens (Choi x Luong Phuong) from 1 day to 14 weeks of age resulted in a survival rate of 97.33%; an average body weight of 2575.31 grams per chicken; and a feed conversion ratio of 2.93 kg of feed per kg of weight gain. The supplementation reduced the disease incidence rate in the experimental group by 4%, increased meat productivity, improved meat quality, and showed no significant differences between the two experimental groups. It is, therefore, recommended that using Lactomax Plus in diet could increase the growth rate, reduce FCR, maintain good meat quality, as well as resulted in higher economic efficiency.
