The objective of the study is to evaluate some growth and reproductive performance traits of the Zebu crossbred cow herd in some areas of Ninh Binh province (formerly Nam Dinh Province). Data were collected from 671 females at reproductive age (heifers and reproductive cows). The research traits include body weight, linear traits, some basic reproductive characters and reproductive disorders in the population. The routine research methods were applied to collect data, evaluate reproductive disordered phenomena through interviews with farmers and direct examination through rectal palpation. Data analysis used the Chisquare table method and the GLM model in Minitab 16. The research results showed that the breeding cow herd of Ninh Binh province in this research has an average body weight of 275.49 kg and fluctuates from 170 to 430 kg/cow; The lowest body weight was in the heifer stage (232.02 kg) and the highest was 307.63 kg/cow and at the 7th parity. The average age at first service of this herd was 588.60 days, the average age at first calving was 867.50 days; the average post-partum estrus was 79.77 days after calving, the average of days open was 101.70 days and the average calving interval was 378.63 days. The percentage of cows with reproductive disorders was 12.07% in the herd and varied between the heifers by 4.44% and the reproductive cows by 13.25%. The herd is of good status and suitable for herd improvement in the direction of improving both productivity and meat quality.
