The study was conducted in the model farm in Bac Giang, Ninh Binh and Hai Duong provinces from 2021 to 2022 to evaluate the reproductive performance of 100 TH12 and 100 TH21 sows when mated with ĐC1 boars. The results showed that both TH12 and TH21 sows had good reproductive performance, the total number of piglets born alive (NBA) (12.96 vs. 13.68 piglets/litter, respectively, P<0.05) and the total number of weaned piglets per litter (NWL) (11.95 vs. 12.52 piglets/litter, respectively, P<0.05). There was no difference recorded in the reproductive performance of TH12 caused by the sites of the farming models between Bac Giang, Ninh Binh, and Hai Duong province with NBA were at 12.93; 12.95; 13.01and NWL were at 11.92; 11.93; 12.02,respectively, (P > 0.05). TH21 sows NWL in farming models in Bac Giang, Ninh Binh and Hai Duong were not significant differences in terms of NBA and NWL, at 12.93, 12.95; 13.01 and at 11.92, 11.93, 12.02, respectively, (P > 0.05). Breeding factors did affect reproductive performance of TH12 and TH21 sows in some criteria, including age at first mating, age at first farrowing, NBA, NWL and weaning weight/litter (P<0.001) but did not alter the gestation length and farrowing interval (P>0.05). The model farm sites and interaction between the breeding factors and the farming sites did not influence the reproductive performance criteria (P>0.05).Suggestions: using TH12 and TH21 sows as breeding sows in pig production in the Northern provinces.
