Evaluate ability growth and meat performance of commercial Gray geese at Duck Breeding and Research Center

Abstract

To evaluate the meat performance of commercial Gray geese at Dai Xuyen Duck Research Center, an experimental model was conducted at Center. Each plot incluenced 50 males + 50 females, repeated 3 times, invidual numbered from 1dayage. Surveilance of commercial geese at 16 weeks age (6 males + 6 females). The results showed that the a high survival rate of commercialGray Goose was 96.67% for males and 95.33% for females. Body weight of 16 weeksagewas 6074.37g for males, 5248.72g for females; Feed consumption/kg weight gain was 3.85kg for males, 3.71kgfemales. The carcass percentage at 16-week-agewas 72.35% and 72.35% for males and females respectively. Similarly,the breast meat percentagewas 16.19% and 16.70%, respectively. The thigh meat percentage was 12.56%; 12.30%. The wing feather length was 22.72; 21.94 cm
