Five Thanh Chuong buffaloes with body weight of 715-730 kg, 6 years old were raised at the Mounatianous Animal Husbandry Research and Development Center - Thai Nguyen to study semen quality and frozen semen producing ablility on differnet seasons to choose the best season for frozen semen production to improve the body size of Thanh Chuong buffalo and transfering to North center provinces using in improving production of buffalo program. The study was conducted in the spring - summer, autumn and winter season in 2023. Each bull produced semen 10 times per season and 2 times per week. The results show that Thanh Chuong buffalo raised in Thai Nguyen on spring - summer has sperm mobility (80.82%), sperm concentration (972.3 million/ml) and the number of frozen semen produced per time (107.85 straw) are higher than the Autumn and Winter. The ejaculation amount (3.42 ml/time) on spring - summer is not different on Winter, but higher than on autumn (3.08 ml/time). The above results in the Autumn and Winter have no differences, reaching 78.1 and 78.91%; 916.0 and 918.2 million/ml; 88.42 and 95.82 traw/time; 3.08 và 3.29 ml/time. The sperm pH, the ratio of abnormal spermatozoa and the sperm mobility after thawing are not different between different seasons and reached 6.76 - 6.81; 11.65 - 11.93%; 65.21 - 67.15% respectively. The sperm quality of Thanh Chuong buffalo is raised in Thai Nguyen meets the standards of production of frozen semen and the quality of the frozen semen is good for using in artificial insemination in buffalo.
